ATTENDANCE POLICY AND PROCEDURES
The California Civil Code requires compulsory education for our students. We require that you ensure your child attends school regularly and arrives on time. It is with your support and cooperation that we will be able to meet our goal of providing every student with a quality education and a positive learning experience.
THE FOLLOWING ATTENDANCE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WILL BE IMPLEMENTED AND ENFORCED:
TARDIES
School begins at 8:20 a.m. A student is considered absent if he/she is not in their assigned seat within 30 minutes without a valid doctor’s/excuse note of the starting time (Ed Code 48260).

- When student is late he/she must bring a late note from parent.

When student is absent we ask that you do the following:
A parent can call to verify an absence 24 hours a day to extension 5020. We receive all recording messages. A parent/guardian has three (3) days from the last day of the absence to verify the absence. Students will be required to attend Saturday School for unverified, unexcused, truancy and/or excessive absences due to illness.

- Parent /Guardian may call the attendance office to verify the absence.
- Those families who do not have access to a telephone may submit a note to verify the absence.

ALL NOTES OR MESSAGES SHOULD ALWAYS CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:

- Student Name
- ID Number
- Date of Absence/Tardy
- Reason of Absence/Tardy
- Parent Signature
- Day time phone number

You may reach the attendance office by calling directly to (310) 603-1447 ext. 5020. When a student returns to school after his/her absence, student should turn in absent note first to the attendance office then he/she is to report directly to class.
*PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST PRESENT IDENTIFICATION BEFORE ANY INFORMATION OR STUDENT IS RELEASED.
Students will not be released during lunch hours, unless authorized by an administrator.
