Lynwood Unified’s Commitment to Excellence & Equity Recognized Through Pahara Fellowship

Two Lynwood Unified School District leaders have been selected for the prestigious Pahara Institute Fellowship, a one-year program aimed at uniting educational leaders from across the nation to bring about substantial improvements in public schools, particularly for students from low-income households and communities.

Superintendent Gudiel R. Crosthwaite, Ph. D., and Elsa Chagolla, the executive director of the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation, were selected to join separate cohorts of 24 values-driven leaders in the educational excellence and equity movement who are committed to transforming public education.

As part of the fellowship, leaders will participate in three five-day seminars focused on dialogue, mindfulness, and reflection on leadership, identity, equity and values. Fellows will challenge traditional thinking, address leadership challenges in public education and drive improvements to ensure high-quality, inclusive learning opportunities for all students. With access to a nationwide network of leaders, Crosthwaite and Chagolla will gain fresh insights to drive long-term success for Lynwood scholars

This achievement reinforces the District’s commitment to Unlocking Brilliance and Uplifting Community, creating a lasting impact on the lives of Lynwood students and families. The District looks forward to the continued growth and success this fellowship will foster, furthering Lynwood Unified’s mission toward excellence and equity.
