SHOUTOUTS FROM MR. TERRY!!!

Thank you to our parents who continue to volunteer their time to support our school community!  Whether it is passing out flyers or serving on a committee, you are APPRECIATED!!  In addition, I wanted to thank our ASB students for assisting with welcoming participants in last Thursday’s LACOE training in the Old Cafeteria.  Also, kudos goes to Ms. Perez, our Community Schools Case Manager for organizing the event to take place on our campus.  Finally, thank you to Ms. Nunez and Ms. Ramirez for the World Kindness Day event last week.  It was a great way to support Kindness throughout our school!

COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL/NATIONAL PARENT INVOLVEMENT DAY

National Parent Involvement Day will take place on Thursday, November 21st.  In addition, our monthly Coffee with the Principal session will take place on the same day at 9am in the Parent Center as one way we promote Parent Involvement at our site.  Those who attend our Coffee with the Principal session will be able to visit some of our elective classes, hear about upcoming events, participate in a Resource Fair, and more.   Be on the lookout for a post on our Instagram Page and a Parent Square message.

UNIT #2 COMMON ASSESSMENT DATA

Our students recently took the Unit #2 Common Assessments for Algebra I and English Language Arts. The percentages below represent students who met or exceeded the standard during the assessment. Here's how we did compared to last year:

  • Algebra I
    • 2023-24: 2%
    • 2024-25: 29%
  • English Language Arts
    • ELA 7: 2023-24 - 34%; 2024-25 - 35%
    • ELA 8: 2023-24 - 24%; 2024-25 - 31%

As you can see, our students have shown improvement in performance compared to last year. This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our parents, students and teacher teams. Nice job!!! 🙌
