Whether you're passing out flyers or serving on a committee, your contributions are truly appreciated.  Thank you to our Community Schools and Custodial Teams who made the Community Schools Night a success.  I appreciated our student performers, as well as all of the parents from our feeder schools who were able to attend the event.  On a final note, I wanted to congratulate our Advanced Band who won FIRST PLACE in the Knott’s Berry Farm showcase this past Saturday.  Kudos to our amazing students, parents and Mr. Alba for achieving this great honor!

ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH

As we enter the month of May, we are proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month—a time to recognize and honor the rich histories, diverse cultures, and countless contributions of the AAPI community. Throughout the month, our students will engage in learning activities that highlight the voices, achievements, and traditions of AAPI individuals past and present. We encourage families to join us in this celebration by exploring books, music, and stories that reflect the beauty and depth of AAPI heritage. Together, we can foster understanding, appreciation, and unity within our school community.  In addition to daily announcements centered around AAPI individuals who have impacted our society, our ASB Team has put together a Spirit Week this week for our students and staff.

AFTER SCHOOL & DRIVING SAFETY

In order to support a safe school community for everyone, please make sure your student(s) goes directly home or to an agreed safe location after school.  We ask that your student(s) not loiter in the park or any other areas in the city.  Also, this is a friendly reminder to help our school maintain a safe environment before and after school, please be mindful of your surroundings as you drop off and pick up your child(ren).  Driving safely at all times keeps everyone in the HMS Community and beyond safe.
