SHOUTOUTS FROM MR. TERRY!!!
We appreciate our parents who generously volunteer their time to support our school community! Whether you're passing out flyers or serving on a committee, your contributions are truly appreciated. Thank you to several of our parents who volunteered to assist with our Teacher Appreciation Breakfast last week in the Parent Center. Also, kudos goes out to our Community Schools Case Manager who secured the Nexplore group to conduct Cooking and Pottery classes during both 7th and 8th grade lunches. It was great to honor our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Bode, at last week's Board Meeting. Finally, I wanted to thank our Equity Department for giving our setting the team who came out and did the Dragon Dance for our students during 7th and 8th grade lunch.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
The Hosler Community hoped all of our moms in our school community had an amazing Mother’s Day! Your love, support, and dedication make a lasting impact on our students each and every day. We are grateful for all that you do—today and always!

ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH
As we enter the month of May, we are proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month—a time to recognize and honor the rich histories, diverse cultures, and countless contributions of the AAPI community. Throughout the month, our students will engage in learning activities that highlight the voices, achievements, and traditions of AAPI individuals past and present. We encourage families to join us in this celebration by exploring books, music, and stories that reflect the beauty and depth of AAPI heritage. Together, we can foster understanding, appreciation, and unity within our school community. In addition to daily announcements centered around AAPI individuals who have impacted our society, our ASB Team has put together a Spirit Week this week for our students and staff.
8th GRADE ELIGIBILITY FOR ACTIVITIES
Please continue to monitor your student’s grades so they are on-track to participate in all 8th grade activities. Students who have TWO or more Fails and less than a 2.0 GPA on their 4th Quarter Progress Report cards will not be eligible to participate in 8th grade activities such as Grad Bash and Promotion. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Hinds (8th Grade Counselor) or Ms. Camacho (Assistant Principal).
AFTER SCHOOL & DRIVING SAFETY
In order to support a safe school community for everyone, please make sure your student(s) goes directly home or to an agreed safe location after school. We ask that your student(s) not loiter in the park or any other areas in the city. Also, this is a friendly reminder to help our school maintain a safe environment before and after school, please be mindful of your surroundings as you drop off and pick up your child(ren). Driving safely at all times keeps everyone in the HMS Community and beyond safe.
