SHOUTOUTS FROM MR. TERRY!!!
Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who assisted with distributing flyers and supporting our Book Fair. Also, a huge thank you to our Parents, Staff and Students who made our annual Back-to-School Night a huge success. The vibe was very positive and inspiring. So let’s continue to grow as a school community to ensure our students become Responsible, Independent, Critical Thinkers so they can reach their full potential!
STRATEGIC GOALS FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR
As we move forward throughout this current school year, there are several goals that we are focusing on meeting. These numbers were based on our historical data from the past three years. Please review the following:
- Attendance Rate: August - 95% & September 95%
- SBAC Scores: ELA 30% &Math 18% (These percentages represent students who will either meet or exceed the standard.)
- D/F Rate: Quarter 1 Progress Report - 45% and Quarter 1 Report - 45%
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, honors the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. This time period provides a valuable opportunity for our students to explore the diverse traditions and achievements that shape our communities. By celebrating Hispanic Heritage, we promote inclusivity, cultural awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the vibrant influences that enrich our society.
SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH
As September is Suicide Prevention Month, we want to emphasize the importance of our students' mental and emotional well-being. It's crucial that we all work together to create a supportive environment where every child feels valued and heard. Please remind your child that they are never alone and that resources are available if they need support. Thanks to Ms. Perez, our students have already experienced the GHOSTED theater performance sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. In addition, we will have a lunch event later this month and the Department of Mental Health will be presenting at our next Coffee with the Principal on Friday, September 20th.
DRESS CODE
Starting Monday, August 19th, our staff will be following through with the student DRESS CODE. In order to promote a safe learning environment for everyone at our school, we ask that you send your student to school each day in a manner that adheres to the dress code.
