DRESS CODE/UNIFORM INFORMATION
Our uniform colors are black, blue and white. In order to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment for all of our educational partners, students are to wear a school uniform. In addition to the images above, students may also wear HMS Club, polo, and spirit shirs, as well as blue or black jeans on a daily basis. We ask that students be in uniform every day, bring their ID, and come to school on time so they can reach their maximum potential as they adhere to our PBIS promise of being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.
Dress Code
- Wear a school uniform at all times. Hair and clothing must be neat and clean. It is recommended that the clothing be seasonally appropriate, of proper it, and in good repair.
- Safe footwear must be work at all times. Shoes such as thongs, open-toe and open-back sandals, crocs, and house shoes/slippers that create safety or health hazards are not permitted
- Clothing or accessories that suggest obscene pictures, wording, and/or drug, tobacco, or alcohol related are not permitted.
- Sunglasses (unless prescription) may not be worn in classrooms or inside school buildings.
- Any apparel, jewelry, accessory, hair net or manner of grooming which by virtue of its arrangement, trademark, or any other attribute or behavior denotes membership in relations to a group/gang/crew which advocates or promotes drug use or disruptive behavior are not permitted. In addition, beanies and caps are not allowed.
- Rings, bracelets, earrings, or chains, which may be considered a safety hazard or used as weapons are not permitted
- Crop tops, clothing exposing a bare midriff, short shorts, halter tops, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines, tube tops, open-sided shirts (tank tops), short skirts, shits and blouses which expose sides of the body, tight stretch jeans, spandex pans, legging, pajama pants and see through or mesh materials which expose bare skin are not permitted. Outer clothing must properly cover all undergarments. Clothing with holes, showing bare-skin is not allowed.
- Apparel, hairstyles, or makeup which are deemed a safety hazard or are disruptive to the educational-process is not permitted.
- Anything not specifically covered in the rule and regulations above, or in detailed Dress Code which is part of the Student Handbook, that is disruptive to the educational process will be left to the discretion of the administration.
