Community Campaign Contest

Good Afternoon Lynwood Unified Community,

My name is Axel Perez, a communications intern with the office of the superintendent and the lead overseeing the district's Community Campaign Contest.

WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN CONTEST?

The Community Campaign Contest is a new contest where we are looking to collaborate with students and their artwork. Our community campaign focuses on unity and bringing us together through this pandemic that has challenged us all. We are calling on all Lynwood Unified School District students to enter our contest! On one blank sheet of paper, express the meaning of what “Together We are Lynwood'' signifies to you. These submissions can be more than art, students can submit poems, digital artwork, photography, collages, and more! Three winners will be chosen and their artwork will be enlarged and turned into a banner placed on the District office front gate, as well as receive recognition at an upcoming board meeting. The remaining participants will have their submissions showcased in the display case in the District office lobby.

The contest deadline is as follows:

  • Contest Opens | Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 12:00 AM (PST)

  • Contest Runs | Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 - Friday, March 25th, 2022

HOW CAN YOU HELP/WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU?

We are currently making our last push for the contest and would like to have your help. Here are ways you can help promote the contest and get your students involved:

  • Posting the contest on your school social media accounts

  • Making school wide announcements promoting the contest

  • Printing out our flier and posting it around campus, on a bulletin board, or on your  "current news board"

  • Posting the contest header on your websites homepage slider with link to the application

  • Informing your teachers and staff either at an upcoming staff meeting or through email

  • Sending messages or calls home

  • Sending fliers home

  • Notifying your PTO and getting them involved to make parents aware of the contest

  • Nominating students that you think are perfect for this contest and handing them and application

  • Encouraging teachers to pass out the application to the class for those whose classes or programs fit our competition (art, graphic design, yearbook, afterschool programs: Think Together/EduCare/The Movement)
